Tech Track Volunteer Program
Drupal or Wordpress Web Developer,
Android or Apple App Developer.
The Hedonisia Tech Internship allows you to use your skills as a trade for lodging to support the continued development of virtual social enterprises in Hawaii.
Normally every Volunteer has to pay for their stay under the Hedonisia Fair-Trade Program. However, for Wordpress or App Developers we offer a free option after the initial two week Tryout Period.
- 15 hours of work a Week = Fair-Trade Tech Volunteer - (Discount Paid Volunteer Program)
- 20 hours of work a Week = Special Tech Volunteer Option (No Volunteer Fee for Lodging)
If as a Tech Volunteer you wish to work less you can simply choose the Fair-Trade Tech Volunteer Option. Please note that the Special Tech Volunteer Option is only available for Advanced Level Drupal, Wordpress or iPhone or Android App Developers.
Important Notes:
Please note that Hedonisia Hawaii is a Sustainable Community in Hawaii. We offer Eco-Tourism at our beautiful Jungle Community. Many Guests and Volunteers enjoy a beautiful and affordable ecofriendly vacation here without ever even being aware of our other projects.
However, Hedonisia Hawaii is not our only project. We have a number of socially activist web projects. Some of these projects are sensual and/or politically incorrect in nature and Pro-Choice in terms of a woman's right to abortion and access to natural birth control.
Please be warned! We do NOT want a Tech Volunteer working on a project that they do not feel completely comfortable with!
With this in mind, scroll down this page to view the websites we are working on. If feel feel that you would like to contribute your skills to any of them then please state so in your application. That way you can feel enthusiastic about the project you are working on!
Drupal Tech Volunteers can choose to work on any of the following websites:
1)Hedonisia Hawaii.com Drupal beta
This is our home website which we are in the slow but exciting process of converting to a Drupal based website. You will be helping to bring our real land based environmental work into the virtual world!
2) Natural Miscarriage.org (current website) Feminist oriented website that helps women with reproduction decisions and family planning.
***Interns must be pro-choice to work on this website.***
Here are some of the projects that a Drupal or App Developer Tech Intern will work on:
- Implement separate language pages of text for Arabic, Chinese, etc.
- Continue with our upgrade process to the new Natural Miscarriage beta Drupal website.
- Continue to add new methods derived from women's questions, stories and research
- Setting up Security protocols to guards.
- Creation and Development of Women's Choice Miscarriage iPhone or Android App
3) WorldArtErotica.com (current website) Museum of sensual art and literature from around the world.
- Continue upgrade of current website into new interactive World Art Erotica Drupal beta website.
- Implement new prodedure for adding new art images to virtual museum
- Setting up Security protocols to guards against hackers
4) EcoSensual.org: Sensual, natural birth control ebook and online interactive guide for lovers
- Continue to improve Ecosensual Natural Birth Control Love Interactive Love Calandar.
- Implement daily sensual tips for natural birth control more effectively into website
- Create iphone app
- Instruction in how to work with and update new Drupal site
5) Sexual Equalism.com: A politically incorrect and evolving look at sex and gender relations in the world today. Please note this site is very much in beta version!
- Volunteers will be working on updating the book features and implementing SEO and other widgets for improved visitor experience.
Wordpress Tech Volunteers can choose to work on the following site:
Hedonisia LLC: This site is the parent site for all our projects. It is in Wordpress and blog based with articles and contributions that connect the myriad Hedonisia concepts.
- Continue training on how to improve and update current site
- Implement new SEO and other widgets to improve visitor experience of site
Remote Volunteering:
If you are accepted as a Tech Volunteer, we also offer you the option to work remotely to "build up Volunteer hours". Then when you arrive at Hedonisia you will have time banked so you can relax for a while and enjoy Hawaii before you start working onsite.
