About
Hedonisia Hawaii is one of the most eco-friendly hostels in Hawaii! We Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and as a result we can offer very affordable vacation rental accommodations in the Hawaiian Rainforest! See our Accommodations Price list.
We offer ten Guest spaces spread out on 3.72 acres of land on the Big Island of Hawaii in the eastern Puna area. Having only ten bed-spaces prevents us from becoming over-crowded and allows all Guests and Volunteers privacy and space to enjoy nature. As an eco-hostel we have tried mightily to adopt sustainable business practices.
Hedonisia Hostel
Our Guests enjoy the following shared facilities: drinkable county water, jungle style kitchen with dry food storage and a refrigerator, a solar heated outdoor shower, toilet-with-a-view, electricity, telephone, and DSL wireless internet access! It's jungle style but hardly roughing it! There is also a nature-trail you can explore that leads around to our own volcanic crater.
The Hedonisia Fair-Trade Volunteer Program allows visitors to stay in the Hawaiian jungle for little cost. Our Volunteer options range from tropical organic farming and landscaping to web site development and graphic design, along with many other areas of work you wouldn't expect in a jungle hostel. Volunteers work only 2.5 hours per day for one night accommodation. Call us at 808-430-2545 for interview or to reserve dates.
Despite the fact that we're located in the rainforest, we are close to many major attractions of Puna and East Hawaii such as Kapoho Warm Ponds, Kehena black-sand beach, Volcano's National Park, and many others. Our location is very convenient for both vacationers and volunteers alike. The quaint "New Age hippie" town of Pahoa is only 4 miles away; so is the ocean!
