General Services
  • 1) Pickups to and from the Airport. From Hilo Airport the cost is $25 (Night or early morning pickups add $5) and to Kona Airport the cost is $65. We can also drive you to other locations. $5 for local trips of 5 miles or less. $10 for trips of 5 – 20 miles. Ask for details.
  • 2) Laundry Service. To wash a load of clothes the cost is FREE. For $2.00 you receive a portion of eco-friendly biodegradeable soap powder. And for an additional $1.50 in quarters you can use the dryer. There is also a Laundromat in the town of Pahoa 4 miles away.
  • 3) Copy of digital photos onto a CD. You can use our Digital Card Reader to copy your photos onto a CD. Just give us your digital camera and we will give you a CD with your photos on it. Cost = $10 per disc. However, if you have your own camera card reader then you may simply purchase computer time on the hostel computer and create your own CD.
  • 4) Purchase Plane Tickets or Change Dates. For those of you who do not have a credit card we can purchase a plane ticket for your or change your existing ticket for only $6 plus the cost of the ticket.
  • 5) Tours to the Volcanic Lava Flow. We offer a number of tours to the volcano:
    a) For those who are fit enough for a strenuous walk to see the actual lava flowing we offer a tour for $40 per person. (2 person minimum for a walking tour of about 6 - 7 hours)
    b) For those who just wish to walk around on the Kalapana black lava we can take you there for $10 per person.

Driving Services in Hawai'i

Many travelers who come here choose not to rent a car. Hitch-hiking, whilst easy, is not always convenient. So, we offer Paid Drives to the following locations. Prices are based per trip so up to three people can share the cost of a journey. We can drive you to most other locations on the island. Our flat rate is $20 per hour. Based on availability.
