Hedonisia Hawaii Volcano Lava Tour

The Puna region of Big Island Hawaii is one of the most active volcanic regions in the world. Since 1982 there has be a continous lava flow making it the longest running lava flow in the modern world. Only $40 per person.

Though not overly strenuous, this tour is recommended for fit adults and teenagers. Based on fitness and ability we offer the following tours:

  1. Drive to the Kalapana Lava Field - ideal for small families. We drive you out to a viewing spot where you can walk around on lava field and see the flow in the distance. $25 flat rate
  2. Partial Hike to Lava Flow - We walk to the lava flow but if you decide to turn back at any point then we do so. $30 per person
  3. Full Hike to Lava Ocean Flow - Currently it takes about 1 hour to hike out to the ocean lava flow. We then stay there for an hour at dusk until night fall begins. Then we hike back in the night, with flashlights, to the parking area. Total tour time including drive and trip to town for supplies = 5 hours. $40 per person
  4. Full Hike to Mountain Lava Flow - This is the Big Kahuna! Only for those who are very fit. This hike goes side ways up the volcano to the lava stream as it flows down. Approximately 8 - 10 hours. Cost $60 per person.

For the tour please bring the following items:

  • 1 - Flashlight
  • 2 - Long denim trousers or jeans
  • 3 - Light gloves ( the lava is very sharp if you fall down)
  • 4 - Snacks and water.
  • 5 - Jacket or long sleeve shirt
