Friends of Hedonisia
Many Volunteers who stay here do their work, have a great time in Hawaii and then continue on their way.
Some Volunteers are what we call "union workers". They only work exactly when they are supposed to and absolutely nothing more.
However, some Volunteers show their enthusiastic support of Hedonisia by going the extra mile through hard work and commitment to the spirit of our little community. These volunteers go above and beyond the call of duty without seeking additional recognition.
They might pick up a piece of garbage or perhaps wash a couple of dishes without waiting for someone to notice. Someone who does so because they care about this beautiful piece of land that we are allowed to inhabit.
We define such a person as a "Friend of Hedonisia". We have no problem going the extra mile for that person; offering a lift if we are going to town a free laundry load. A little extra deserves a little extra!
As our way of showing appreciation and in the spirit of community we created the designation Friends of Hedonisia as a way of welcoming our friends back!
As a Friend of Hedonisia you have the following benefits:
- Priority Volunteer: Friends of Hedonisia are welcome again any time at Hedonisia Hawaii based on availability. Be sure to reserve as far in advance as possible to ensure we have a space for you when you arrive.
- Volunteer Fee Reduced: If you return for another volunteer stint at Hedonisia you do not have to pay the initial 2-week Tryout Phase. Instead you can go directly into paying one day lodging for one week of volunteer work.
- Friends & Relatives Discount: We offer a 10% discount to any of your close friends or relatives who you send to us either as guests or volunteers.
- Hardship Discount: If you are unable to pay the discounted rate due to financial or personal hardship then write to us and we will do our best to work something out. If you were a volunteer who really helped us we will try to return the favor... that's what friends are for! :-)
Special Friends of Hedonisia: Hedonisia will always have an eco-tourist component as we love to host cool visitors from around the world. Many of our visitors over the years have become good friends.
However, underneath the surface Hedonisia is very active in socially progressive causes. Slowly Hedonisia is evolving from an eco-tourist lodging establishment to become an Intentional Community.
